A close friend of mine once said, "blog is the single worst word in the English language." I have to say, I'm inclined to agree. It seems to jump of your tongue and then immediately plummets to the ground with a large splat. Just say it...blog. It really makes you cringe doesn't it? The mere fact that it has managed to slither its way into common usage in the English language (including earning a spot in Websters) is absolutely disgusting.
With that being said...welcome to my blog!
I know, this is hypocritical of me. But really, how else are all of you going to keep constant tabs on me over the coming five months or so? I know I know...try and hold back the tears. It's unbecoming.
If all goes as planned, I'll keep this updated pretty regularly with pictures and my thoughts and whatnot. What is more likely is that I'll forget about this whole idea three days into the trip, and you'll have to start begging me for updates (which I know you will...right?).
I leave on Thursday, which is incidentally New Years day. So say au revoir to my first New Years Eve with legal boozing! Everyone drink up for me. Thursday/ Friday will go as follows:
12:30- Fly from Chicago to Newark
7:00- Fly from Newark to Paris
ridiculously early the next morning: Fly from Paris to Montpellier
12:00 pm Friday: forget I made a blog.
12:01 pm Friday: quick nap
